Are you an educator interested in advancing higher education within incarcerated communities? The NAIScholars is seeking partnership with colleges, universities, and incarcerated education programs to work with us while we develop recognized curricula and connections with a pool of incarcerated and formerly incarcerated teaching assistants.
Through the NAIScholars, you can benefit from:
• Training and experience to elevate your understanding of incarceration and social justice.
• Broadening your perspective on student experience.
• Trained learning assistants who are currently or formerly incarcerated scholars, while simultaneously providing opportunities for them.
• Pathways for formerly incarcerated scholars to serve as adjunct faculty through joint sponsorship with you and the NAIScholars.
Our model prioritizes specialized curricula that addresses the unique needs of currently and formerly incarcerated students, providing opportunities, and aligning with institutional standards while centering the leadership of incarcerated scholars. Our partnership with educators and their institutions are mutual. We facilitate education and leadership opportunities, while expanding access and encouraging a diverse population of students and educators.
Through partnerships with institutions like yours, we can follow education standards and offer professional development and curricula from a variety of fields in pursuit of educational equity.
