As a formerly incarcerated individual, you are uniquely situated in understanding the challenges faced in gaining higher education.
While incarcerated, you may have seen how programs and education access varied.
However, you have likely found yourself on this NAIScholars page for a reason. You may be seeking to promote equity in education for the incarcerated, or you are on a journey to become a scholar yourself. Though 95% of incarcerated people will be released, they often face barriers in accessing education and leadership opportunities.
The NAIScholars seeks to help you advance your education and leadership story, expand your access to academia and future career opportunities, provide the unique opportunity for you to connect with your current and formerly incarcerated peers, and empower you to advance your passion for personal transformation, engagement, and social justice.
