Advocates & Researchers' role in NAIScholars

Advocates are essential when it comes to making change in the world of justice. The NAIScholars requests your help in spreading awareness of our organization. We are seeking to increase opportunities for currently and formerly incarcerated people, provide timely news updates to our audience, and normalize education in prison spaces.

We can use your help to 

• Recruit members over social media, journalism platforms, and word-of-mouth
• Refer individual educators or organizations to our cause
• Spread our message through media

Inversely, you can benefit from

• A platform for raising awareness for issues you personally care about
• Collaborating with a national association of educators, students, organizations, other advocates, researchers, and more!
• Sharing your ideas in a justice focused space

Researchers play an important role in advancing incarceration knowledge. While some data has been researched and public, there is still much to learn about individual rehabilitative programs, education, and the impact of incarceration on people. We want to partner with researchers to advance public and institutional knowledge on the best educative measures for system-impacted people.

By working with NAIScholars staff, you can benefit from connecting with like-minded individuals who have lived experience with prison, education, and justice. You may learn more about how to be mindful while interacting with incarcerated people, institutions, and measures for presenting this information.
