Mission

To empower incarcerated and formerly incarcerated scholars through education, advocacy, and community-building.

Vision

A nation where incarcerated scholars are recognized, supported, and positioned to lead transformative change in education, policy both within and outside the carceral state. The NAIScholars envisions a society in which education is accessible to all incarcerated people, scholarship is recognized regardless of confinement, and the intellectual contributions of incarcerated individuals are valued within academic and public discourse.
